Op. Dr. Erman Ak is a Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist based in Istanbul, Turkey, known for his expertise in facial, breast and body contouring surgeries. Education and Academic Career

Dr. Erman Ak completed his primary and secondary education in Mersin and graduated from Mersin Science High School. In 2014, he graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and began his specialization at Istanbul University Çapa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

During his residency, he actively participated in hand surgery, congenital hand anomalies, nerve transfers, and microsurgery operations; he gained intensive experience in facial surgery.

International Training and Scientific Studies

In 2018, he received advanced microsurgery training at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan under Prof. Dr. Fu Chan Wei. In 2019, he gave an oral presentation on “ALT flaps” at the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery Congress in Bologna. He completed his specialty training with a thesis on “Investigation of Donor Site Morbidity After Latissimus Dorsi Muscle Flaps”.

After his specialization, he took part in the establishment of the Plastic Surgery Department at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura Hospital and served as the head of the department for a long period. During this time, he performed the hospital’s first mandibular bone graft surgery.

In 2022, he worked as an ISAPS fellow with Prof. Dr. Giovanni Botti and Chiara Botti at Villa Bella Clinic in Italy for three months, conducting advanced studies on facial and breast aesthetics. In 2021, he was awarded the European Board Certification in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery by the European Board of Plastic Surgery (EBOPRAS).
